Indian Housewife —– Some random thoughts
A woman power….She is an important organ of our Indian Society….She is known to transform a simple ordinary house into heaven. It is practically impossible to imagine a house without a wife…the brick and cement structure would be similar to a life without a soul!!!
Ours is still a male dominant society with most of the men doing the earning while a female is entrusted with the job of looking after the house, ageing parents and kids. She takes pride in the success of her husband and celebrates it as if its her own….and in times of distress….provides excellent emotional support…No wonder….Indian tradition bestows her with the title “Goddess Laxmi”…since she is the one who spreads cheer and happiness in the house….making it ideal for prosperity…
Children are her priceless asset….Right from giving birth, she looks after their studies, their up-bringing and even their marriage…She takes great pain in making them a good citizen….If only men realized her immense power and strength to accomplish these acts, she would transform the house into a heaven….. for sure.
These modern times have seen the invasion of western culture into our households too…
Getting influenced by the western winds, housewife has started liberating herself from her house and instead has begun focusing on kitty parties and clubs…leaving her children to grow-up in the care of house maids and baby-sitters…Such children are getting deprived of the warmth of their mothers and hence they are increasingly seen having lesser affection for being in a family.
Have you suddenly witnessed a rising demand for Old-Age Homes…that too even in smaller cities..? No wonder…..Children growing up in the absence of parents are devoid of any strong positive feelings for them.
Hence…..greater the trend of children growing up in the care of baby-sitters….more would be the possibility of parents finding themselves in Old Age Homes…at a later stage…Why does the society then, find fault with such children putting up their oldies in Old Age homes? People who prefer to live their lives just for themselves have no right to question their children if later; they also choose to live in the same manner.
As you sow….so shall you reap!!!
